Weight transfer
The Fundamentals of Weight Transfer
Move pressure in a way that supports contact, speed, and balance.

Pressure moves; the body should not drift wildly
A good backswing lets pressure move into the trail foot while the upper body turns around a fairly steady center. A good downswing shifts pressure toward the lead foot early enough for the club to bottom out in front of the ball with irons and deliver speed with the driver.
Swaying off the ball is different from loading. Hanging back is different from creating launch. Those distinctions matter.
Useful checkpoints
- Backswing: trail foot feels loaded, but the head has not wandered far outside the stance.
- Transition: pressure starts moving lead before the arms throw down.
- Impact with irons: lead side accepts weight, low point ahead of the ball.
- Finish: chest faces the target, trail foot up, balance held.
Simple image: Step into the shot, do not fall at it.
Club differences
Irons reward a forward low point. Driver still needs pressure moving forward, but with enough tilt and ball position to strike slightly upward.
