Common Rules Disputes and How to Resolve Them
Resolve rules disagreements with better communication, provisional thinking, and respect for the group.

Slow down the argument
Most rules disputes get worse because players rush, guess, or talk over each other. Pause. Identify the ball, the area, the form of play, and what each player believes happened.
Use procedure
In casual play, agree on a fair way to continue and check later if needed. In competition, involve a rules official or follow the committee’s procedure. Do not turn uncertainty into a personal debate.
Protect the card
Write down the facts while they are fresh: location, lie, stakes, and what action was taken. Clear notes beat confident memories after the round.
