How to Care for Golf Rangefinders

A five-minute maintenance habit

A rangefinder that’s knocked around in a cart bag and never cleaned will slow you down before you notice the optics have degraded. The most preventable faults are lens fogging, low battery, and a loose port cover.

Try this routine:

1. Clean the objective and eyepiece lenses with a microfibre cloth after every round.
2. Check and top up the battery before any competition or important round.
3. Confirm the port cover closes fully to keep moisture from the electronics.
4. Store in a padded case, not loose in a side pocket where it picks up grit.

Small habits, big difference

A rangefinder in good condition locks faster and reads cleaner. Those seconds saved in the pre-shot routine are worth more than any advanced feature that takes longer to use than the one it replaced.
