Course management
A Practical Guide to Course Management
Make decisions that protect the next shot instead of chasing the perfect one.

Strategy starts before trouble
Course management is choosing the shot that gives your next shot a chance. It is not cowardly golf. It is knowing when a 5-wood to the wide part beats driver toward a creek, or when the middle of the green is the boldest smart target.
The basic questions
- What is my normal miss today?
- Where is the penalty?
- What yardage do I like next?
- Does this shot need to be great, or just playable?
Answer those and the hole often gets simpler.
A better scorecard goal
Track big numbers avoided. Turning two doubles into bogeys is course management you can feel immediately.
