Club fitting
Who Really Needs Club Fitting?
Learn when fitting is worth it, even if you don't shoot par or swing like a tour player.

Fitting is not only for elite golfers
If you make reasonably repeatable contact, a fitting can help. That doesn’t mean every beginner needs a premium custom set on day one, but clubs that are wildly too long, too stiff, too flat, or too heavy can make learning harder.
Signs you may benefit
Consider a fitting if you notice:
- A consistent miss that doesn’t match your swing work.
- Irons that start left or right with solid contact.
- Big distance gaps between clubs.
- Driver flight that balloons or falls out of the sky.
- Discomfort with grip size, club length, or weight.
Who can wait
If your contact changes dramatically from week to week, lessons and practice may come first. A fitter can still check basics like length and grip size, but fine-tuning shafts before you can find the face consistently may not offer much value.
Budget-friendly fitting
You don’t have to replace the whole bag. Sometimes the answer is a lie-angle adjustment, better gapping, a different driver loft, or grips that fit your hands.
Quick recap
You don’t need to be a low-handicapper to benefit from fitting. You need enough pattern in your swing for the equipment to support it.
